The State Working Committee (SWC), chaired by Chairman Leader Sokebari Sampson and secretary Hon. Eke Iheanyi Eugene, confirmed the immediate suspension of State Auditor Hon. Cyril Awzata and Deputy State Chairman Engr. Ode Lawrence Egbagiri in a statement released following an emergency meeting in Port Harcourt. According to Party Publicity Secretary Chief Luckyman Egila, Egbagiri violated the ADC constitution by filing a lawsuit in the party’s name without permission. Awzata was charged with regularly pretending to be the state secretary and making unapproved public remarks, which the party claimed caused misunderstandings among members and the general public, according to Vanguard.
For additional investigation, both men have been referred to the state disciplinary committee, which is presided over by Deputy Legal Adviser Barr. Opuapunamenji Benibo. Egila warned against any actions that would harm the party’s reputation and advised members to disregard any statements or actions made by the suspended officials. Additionally, he reiterated the ADC’s opposition to running in the next local government elections in Rivers State, describing the procedure as “illegal and unconstitutional,” and he pledged the party’s ongoing dedication to openness, discipline, and respect for the law….CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
