August 15, 2025 A 56-year-old woman known as Iran’s “black widow,” Kolsum Akbari, is facing execution for allegedly poisoning 11 husbands during a 22-year period….CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
Targeting elderly males, the killings started in 2000 and lasted until 2023. Akbari was allegedly motivated by money as she inherited dowries and properties from her late husbands. The Telegraph claims that Akbari poisoned her victims gradually using a lethal combination of sedatives, diabetes medications, blood pressure medication, and industrial alcohol. Iran has been shocked by Akbari’s case, which revealed a horrifying series of premeditated killings that were passed off as natural deaths. There are still unanswered issues regarding the full scope of her crimes and the techniques employed to get her to confess as she awaits death. The case brings to light persistent issues with Iran’s legal system and the difficulties in identifying recurrent offences in a system where trends may go unreported for decades….CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
