The news of his death has thrown the football community and entertainment industry into mourning, as Omotoyossi was also the husband of popular Nollywood actress, Bose Alao.
According to reports, the former FC Metz of France player died on Tuesday, although details surrounding the circumstances and cause of his death have not yet been disclosed. Family members and close associates are yet to release an official statement.
Omotoyossi, who was born in Lagos, Nigeria, later chose to represent the Benin Republic at the international level, where he made a remarkable impact. He played for the national team, the Squirrels, for several years and earned recognition as one of their most consistent strikers.
