A person close to Feranmi’s family told The Nation that he was a cheerful and friendly young man. The person also denied rumours that he had taken his own life, saying that Feranmi came from a loving and responsible family. Although his father lives abroad, Feranmi and his two siblings were cared for by their mother, who is known and respected in their neighbourhood. She was described as a strong and supportive woman who not only looked after her own family but also helped others in the community.

Reports indicated that the tragic incident caused widespread panic in the vicinity of Cocoa House. According to accounts, Feranmi had resumed work on Monday and joined some of his colleagues on the top floor of the building to mount a banner on the wall as part of a work assignment. During the process, the frame he attempted to stand on reportedly gave way due to its weakness, resulting in an accidental fall from the 24th floor.

The source said: “The fall resulted in multiple severe injuries. Despite efforts by emergency responders to rush him to the University College Hospital (UCH), he was confirmed dead. The family has since taken custody of his remains.

“He was immediately rushed to Adeoyo state hospital but he was already dead as his head and other parts had smashed on the roof of the security post before landing on the floor. The family had gone to recover the corpse from the morgue. He has been buried.”
