According to Anadolu English, the European Union’s top Foreign Policy Chief, Kaja Kallas, while speaking ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels, said, “These attacks on Kyiv are totally appalling. Russia has clearly stepped up its pressure, and we are now seeing the most brutal wave of strikes to date. It is up to us to put pressure on Russia so that it also seeks peace. Europe is ready to act, and we hope other global players will join us in this effort.”
Kaja Kallas described the latest Russian bombings as a major escalation, warning that the international community must act swiftly before the situation spins out of control.
It was gathered that the harsh remarks of Kaja Kallas against the Russian Federation came as Kyiv reels from back-to-back Russian missile and drone attacks that have caused severe casualties and widespread destruction. Her comments also add to the growing international alarm over what appears to be a dramatic intensification of the war.
The top European diplomat, Kaja Kallas went further to address wider EU foreign policy goals, including the defense of human rights, the promotion of media freedom, and strengthening cooperation with African countries ahead of the EU-Africa Summit, calling for a smarter approach to managing EU resources.
