On Friday, August 22, 2025, he made this revelation in an emotional interview with FEELRIGHTNEWS TV, when he talked openly about the event that transformed his life. The actor claims that the day started out excitedly as he and his coworkers got ready for a filming session, which they always eagerly anticipated throughout holiday seasons. He clarified that the reason was that during holidays, people tended to stay at home, which increased the number of people watching their movie. But that happiness soon gave way to sorrow.
He described how he had gone out earlier that day with his manager, Dele, and a female coworker to buy a ram for the Sallah celebration. He didn’t realise at the time that he would be grieving for his wife before the day was over, rather than celebrating with her. “Sallah day, when we are always excited to film films because people will be at home to watch that year, was my saddest moment in life.” Abija stated, “I went to buy ram for Ileya with my manager, Dele, and one deceased woman, not realising it was my wife I would use for Ileya that day.”
Abija promised to come back after the shoot, but before he left, he had given his wife money to cook and prepare meals for the family. Unaware that it would be his final time seeing his wife alive, he hurried out of there, leaving the automobile that was supposed to drive them to the hamlet already waiting. Tragic events occurred when they were travelling to the shooting site. A courier brought the heartbreaking news of his wife’s death. But after his manager was initially informed, everyone in his immediate vicinity decided to keep it a secret from him for the time being.
Abija remembered noticing something out of the ordinary among his coworkers. He saw that they were having secret conversations and whispering, but nobody gave an explanation. There was an unshakeable weight in the air, but he forced himself to concentrate on the shoot. The crew continued working on the film that evening, even staying overnight. He stayed in the dark the entire time, not realising that his life had just taken a permanent turn. His pals persisted in keeping him in the dark, holding off on telling him until they believed it would be appropriate.
He wasn’t approached with a false story by a close buddy until the next day. He was informed that he needed to be present to sign some medical paperwork since his wife had become quite ill and was going to have surgery. Enraged by the circumstance, Abija questioned why his boss had not dealt with it, unable to see that it was all a ruse to get him home. When he returned, the heartbreaking truth was eventually disclosed: his wife had passed away the day before. As he described the anguish as something that stabbed deeply into his soul, the actor acknowledged that the shock was intolerable.
He found it difficult to accept the harsh turn of events that transformed a joyous day into a day of sorrow. When Abija thinks back on the event, he says that losing his wife on that specific day is still the saddest and most memorable portion of his life. He acknowledged that the memory still causes him great distress and that time has not completely healed the wound…..CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
