In a video posted by News Central TV, Malema emphasised the need for Africa to move past colonial boundaries and adopt a new system of unity based on a single currency and leader. “We call for a single Africa.

Malema made a strong statement, saying, “We demand borderless Africa, we demand Africa with one president, we demand Africa with one currency.” He asserts that African nations’ advancement, trade, and collaboration have been impeded by the artificial borders established during the colonial era. He maintained that tearing down borders would make the continent stronger and more independent, enabling it to compete on an equal basis with superpowers. Malema, who is well-known for his extreme Pan-African beliefs, insisted that the idea of a unified Africa is not only possible but also essential to the continent’s existence and development. He emphasised how the division of African nations has made the continent open to exploitation by outside forces.

“Africa cannot remain weak and divided while others increase their power.” To restore our dignity, we need to come together politically and economically,” he stated. His appeal has generated a lot of discussion in both political and social circles. Some observers see the proposal as a rallying cry that may spark a new wave of Pan-African ism, while others regard it as ambitious but unrealistic given Africa’s different political systems and economic differences.
