The First Lady of Borno gives a cleaner a reward for returning N4.8 million that was mistakenly deposited into her account.

Faiza Abdulkadir, a cleaner at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, has been recognised by Dr. Falmata Babagana Zulum, the First Lady of Borno State, for her exceptional integrity in returning N4.8 million that was inadvertently debited to her bank account……CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Faiza supported an old mother and five children on a meagre N30,000 a month, yet she put her morals before her own interests. Dr. Zulum gave Faiza a N1 million cash gift to help her family during a special ceremony arranged in her honour.

The First Lady urged people in Borno State to emulate Faiza, praising her as a brilliant example of integrity. “I’m glad a woman from Borno State is someone of this level. I gave her N1 million so she could provide for her family. She stated that she ought to serve as an example for both men and women in Borno State. Zuwaira Gambo, the state commissioner for women’s affairs, also revealed plans to give Faiza food supplies and vocational equipment so she can help her family.

A man from Kebbi State unintentionally placed N4.8 million into Faiza’s bank account, which led to the tragedy. When the correct owner discovered the mistake, he got in touch with her and gave her his account information. It took three days for Faiza to refund the entire cash, but she went to the bank right away.

In an interview, Faiza clarified that her fear of God and her faith served as the driving forces for her behaviour. She claimed that in order to save her peace of mind and stay out of trouble with God, she had to return the money. She was nervous during the three days she spent settling the issue and was unable to eat much until the transaction was over. Faiza was characterised by her neighbours as a morally upright woman who, in spite of her financial difficulties, leads a modest life. Her unusual honesty was also commended by bank authorities, who pointed out that such sincerity is uncommon.

In sharp contrast to Faiza’s admirable behaviour, one staff member related a prior instance in which the recipient spent and retracted an incorrect transfer, leading to legal issues and police involvement. The tale of Faiza Abdulkadir has grown to be a powerful illustration of integrity, demonstrating that morality is based on one’s values and character rather than one’s financial situation…..CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
