Adekoya was detained at the boarding gate of a Qatar Airways flight that was travelling to India via Doha, according to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi. Her luggage had already been checked in. Officers skilfully inserted 2.2 kilogrammes of cocaine into the lining of her bag when they examined it. She acknowledged during questioning that she had lied about having surgery overseas after being promised money to pay for the trip.

Akeem Ayinde Adekanbi, a suspected drug trafficker who allegedly runs the Rockford Hotel in Sango, Ogun State, was located by investigators as a result of the arrest. He’s currently evading capture. Across the nation, other narcotics operations also occurred. Officers in Lagos found 1.3 kilogramme of Loud, a premium cannabis strain, stitched into garments for women that were going to Bahrain. On its route to Australia, an additional 850 grammes of cocaine that had been hidden in fabric hangers were seized. Two suspects were found in Bauchi in possession of more over a million opioid pills, including diazepam and tramadol. More than 200 kg of narcotics concealed in charcoal sacks were found in Kaduna. Following separate operations in Karu and Torabora, where police found methamphetamine and skunk, six individuals were taken into custody in Abuja.

Young guys between the ages of 19 and 32 were found in possession of more than 56 kg of skunk along with a significant amount of pentazocine and tramadol in Kano State. One kilogramme of skunk was found in the possession of a 22-year-old polytechnic student in Kwara who was notorious for giving narcotics to his peers. Officers from the NDLEA raided forest camps in Edo, confiscated more over 4,000 kg of cannabis, and detained several traffickers. As part of its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, the NDLEA is also advancing public awareness campaigns. Campaigns have made their way to traditional establishments like the Ooni of Ife’s palace and schools. Brig. Gen.
