It was learnt that the victim was crossing a busy road when he was struck by a speeding black SUV and then crushed to death by a high-speed truck. According to a person who saw the occurrence, the young man was following some of his Muslim brothers as they left for Friday prayers at the time of the incident.
The source, who only identified himself as Tunde, claimed that while the other worshippers had crossed, the victim was knocked down by the car because he had not paid close attention to the traffic before crossing. According to the informant, a trailer on the speed lane ran over him as the SUV pulled him down, leaving his body completely mutilated. But before police officers could reach the site, the Muslim faithful who were with him blocked the route in protest.
