Speaking on Bolga FM’s Tinmaalgo Sanga on Friday, 25th August 2025, Mr. Alhassan recounted how he was sometimes called to collect bodies from the wards, only to realize that the individuals were not dead.
“I have picked up bodies only to find out they were still alive. In such cases, I returned them to the ward and quickly drew the doctor’s attention,” he explained.
According to him, some of these incidents occurred when patients unknowingly covered themselves entirely with bed sheets while asleep. Their lack of visible movement, combined with the heavy covering, often led health workers to mistakenly assume they had passed away.
“There were times when patients covered themselves fully while asleep. The in-charge would then think they had died and call me to collect the body. Sometimes, I only found out on my way to the morgue when they suddenly woke up,” Mr. Alhassan revealed.
