In an interview conducted recently, Afolabi-Brown revealed that she was fired from TVC early in her career. However, she said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu later learnt of her identity and was told that she was the daughter of the late Alao Aka-Bashorun, a well-known human rights advocate and former Nigerian Bar Association president.
She claims that after learning about her family history, the president admitted that he was unaware of her ties to the esteemed attorney. “Do you know whose child was fired?” is a question that many now ask Asiwaju. He answered, “I don’t know.” ” “This is the daughter of Alao Aka-Bashorun,” he remarked. He realised it was me at that point,” she recalled. As she reflected on the scandals that arose over her career, Afolabi-Brown brought up the controversy surrounding an on-air appearance in which she was accused of describing her husband as a paedophile.
She explained that although there was a lot of criticism for the occurrence, she was able to handle it thanks to Nigeria’s First Lady’s assistance. She was able to make amends with individuals who were affected by the statements and apologise publicly under the First Lady’s direction. Afolabi-Brown went on to discuss her departure from Your View, calling it the conclusion of her 12-year tenure on the well-known breakfast program.
