KCee described how the idea struck him in the gym following a vacation to Dubai, where they had stayed at a seven-star hotel, in his appearance on Off The Top with VJ Adams. When he suggested the name to his brother, E-Money, it immediately struck a chord and encapsulated their brand identity. “I decided to go solo after I broke up with Presh,” KCee stated. I knew I didn’t need anyone, and I already understood the business. All I need is myself. I said, “Hey, let’s do this,” to my brother E-Money over the phone. That day, while I was at the gym brainstorming names, I thought of the Five-Star concept.
When I told my brother, he said, “That’s it,” as we like a flamboyant, opulent way of life. We were simply considering that option.
