Ortom stated during a brief ceremony at his Makurdi home that the PDP will not let any chance to undermine the party pass, emphasising that the party plans to take advantage of the faults of the state’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Two recently appointed state PDP officials, Hon. David Mzer, PDP State Youth Leader, and Hon. Denen Adanyi, Assistant State Treasurer, were formally welcomed by Chief Ortom during the ceremony.
The appointments were made to cover open positions after discussions with party stakeholders in the Ushongo and Vandeikya Local Government Areas. Ortom also declared that Hon. Vitalis Akighir has been appointed as the new State Director for Youth Mobilisation. He tasked the appointments, especially Mzer and Akighir, with mobilising Benue youths in support of the PDP and cultivating grassroots backing for the party’s platform.
The former governor reportedly praised stakeholders and party elders for their amicable discussions in selecting successors, emphasising that stability and unity are still essential to the PDP’s comeback. Party youths led by State Assistant Youth Leader Hon.
