Solade: I’m a Christian, yet I no longer attend church because God has instructed me not to go to church.

Yemi Solade, a veteran Nollywood actor, has talked candidly about his religious beliefs, saying that although he still considers himself a Christian, he no longer goes to church…….CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

The actor clarified that a personal conviction he claimed was bestowed upon him by God served as the foundation for his choice.

In an interview that was posted on September 9, 2025, on Glitch Africa Studios TV, Solade revealed that God had told him to quit going to church in order to protect his mental and physical well-being.

He made it clear that while he still believes in Christianity, he no longer feels that going to church is essential to his spiritual development. In response to a direct question about whether he still identified as a Christian, the actor said that he does, but emphasised that his worship has changed. He maintained that instead of going to Sunday services as is customary, he speaks with God directly. Solade also talked about some of his previous confrontations with religious leaders. He claimed that a clergyman had once advised him to decline film jobs that needed him to work on Sundays.

Since he used some of the same earnings to pay his tithes to the church, he claimed that this commandment was irrational. The actor claimed that because he thought the pastor’s advise was judgemental and unrealistic, he questioned it and even ridiculed him. He clarified that he frequently has to film on Sundays for his acting job and that he found it incomprehensible that the church would attempt to control his professional life. Solade went on to say that there is no explicit biblical mandate that Christians must congregate in a church facility on Sundays.

He made the point that, in his view, genuine worship is about preserving a close relationship with God rather than being restricted to a specific place or day. The well-known actor claimed that his decision to avoid church had given him clarity and serenity. He stated that although some people might not understand his choice, he is certain that he is acting in accordance with spiritual guidance that is best for him at this point in his life.

In spite of his position, Solade insisted that he had no ill will towards the church or Christians who routinely attend services. He merely holds that God guides people differently and that a different route is necessary for his own trip. The Nollywood veteran stated in closing that he will continue to live by the principles he feels God has given him and that his health, sanity, and spiritual relationship with God are his top priority. Despite being a Christian, I no longer attend church because God has instructed me to do otherwise. For my own health and sanity, God commanded me to quit attending church,” he remarked……CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
