In an interview with Dele Adeyanju on Agbaletu TV Uncensored on Friday, September 5, 2025, the esteemed actor offered his observations. Celebrated for his legendary parts in traditional Yoruba cinema, Fatomilola claimed that his understanding of Ifa has a significant impact on his on-screen persona. He asserts that adherents of Ifa build their lives on Ifa knowledge, much as Muslims and Christians base their beliefs on the Bible and the Quran, respectively. He emphasised that his adherence to the tradition lends credibility to his movie parts.

He declared, “I am a practitioner of Ifa knowledge.” “Ifa is similar to the other religions as well. Its information is available to anyone who seek it. I always perform in films using what I know since I have the Ifa knowledge. Regarding Orisha worship, the actor explained why he opposes the practice of keeping some deities indoors. Not all Orishas belong in homes, he noted, emphasising in particular that Esu should never be housed indoors. He underlined, “Esu is supposed to be at a junction, not in anybody’s house.”

The actor continued by sharing an amazing healing experience that occurred while filming in a rural area. He described how hospitals refused to admit a young child who developed acute diarrhoea and bloody discharge, making her very sick. His supervisor asked him to assist save her life by applying his understanding of herbs. Fatomilola clarified that before acting, he first obtained the girl’s and her family’s approval. They agreed, and he and others looked for the herbs he thought were needed at night. He maintained that he could chop the herbs at night despite the advice that they shouldn’t be done because, in his own words, “I will wake the herbs up.”

He prepared the cure and administered it to the girl, who promptly stopped voiding. He went on to say that the potency of the natural remedy was demonstrated by the fact that even someone who consumed the remaining amount of the herbs was unable to poop for three days. According to the actor, the encounter was one of the things that strengthened his conviction that plants have therapeutic properties. Fatomilola also remembered a confrontation that resulted from his position on Esu. He claimed that when he openly stated that Esu has no place in private homes, some people barged into his house to confront him. He asked them where Esu usually resides in response to their concern about why he did not keep Esu at home……CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
