Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recovered ammunition and other items during an exploitation mission in Banki, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, carried out on September 19 in collaboration with hybrid forces and the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, followed recent airstrikes on ISWAP positions during the September 18 attack on Banki and Bula Yobe, which left at least 32 insurgents dead.
Sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama on Saturday that the exploitation patrol was launched to assess the battle damage and impact of the strikes.
Items recovered included a full box of 12.7mm x 108mm ammunition, a box of 7.62mm x 51mm NATO rounds, a bicycle, and a woodland camouflage shirt.
The troops also discovered shallow graves but were unable to access all the strike locations due to the difficult terrain.
