The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command says it has recovered the body of an unidentified woman from Jabi Lake in Abuja.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama revealed this in a post shared on X on Sunday.
According to Makama, the incident was reported to Jabi Division around 10:37 a.m. on Saturday after a distress call from Jabi Lake Recreation.
Police detectives who arrived at the scene found the body of a woman, believed to be about 60 years old, floating on the lake.
Sources revealed that there were no signs of violence on her body, but a pair of green slippers was discovered on the bank of the lake.
“Because the body was already decomposed, the Environmental Health Department was contacted to evacuate it to avoid health risks,” Makama wrote.
The police said investigations are ongoing to identify the woman and determine what led to her death.
