The Transmission Commission of Nigeria, TCN, has said it will restore bulk electricity supply to parts of Kaduna State, which has been in darkness for days.
TCN disclosed this in a statement posted on its X account on Monday.
This comes after TCN earlier blamed the electricity blackout in majorly Southern Kaduna parts of the state on rainfall and thunderstorms, which led to the collapse of its tower in Rigasa.
In an update, TCN said its engineers are working to complete the re-erection of the affected electricity tower.
“TCN engineers are working tirelessly to complete the re-erection of Tower 7 in Rigasa Community, Kaduna, which collapsed recently due to vandalism and severe rainfall accompanied by a windstorm.
“Significant progress has been made, with damaged tower members already dismantled and replaced alongside vandalised portions.
“The tower’s re-erection is nearing completion, with line tensioning to follow shortly. TCN’s engineering crew is committed to the swift completion of the tower, aiming to restore bulk power transmission along the 132 kV transmission line in the shortest possible time,” TCN stated.
