The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed that he encountered a lot of problems when he assumed office as minister.
Despite these problems, Wike assured that his administration is focusing on education, health, and transportation sectors.
He spoke during the flag off of the construction of Access Roads ILS 02 and ILS 03 (Timipre Sylva Street) in Mabushi District, Abuja.
Dismissing claims that he was concentrating on roads construction alone, Wike said the FCT would have been far better if most of the roads being constructed during his tenure were done by previous administrations.
He said: “You can imagine the roads we were building if it was done before now, what would have happened.
”But let me assure you we are not only concentrating on roads, we are also concentrating on education, transportation, we are also concentrating on how we are going to make the youth to the very engaged, we are also concentrating on health and like I said people should understand this, I know some of us will not understand the process of government.
”People should realise that we had a lot of problems when we came in but because of our determination we believe that no sector will be left untouched.”
