Deborah Okwori: Interior designer murdered by ex-boyfriend to be buried in Benue

The remains of young interior designer Deborah Eneyi Ohekuru Okwori, professionally known as Deb’rah Porsche, have been transported from Lagos to Benue State for burial after her tragic death in Lagos last week.

A service of songs was held on Sunday, September 21, in Ayetoro, Ogun State.

According to the family’s announcement, her body left the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital on Tuesday, September 23, and interment is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, at Ugaga Ohuhu Owo in Oju Local Government Area, Benue State.

Police have confirmed that a male suspect described as the victim’s former boyfriend has been remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos pending the next court hearing.

The suspect was arrested after allegedly gaining access to Deborah’s estate by disguising himself as a dispatch rider and fatally stabbing her.

Family members say Deborah, 30, had recently completed her National Youth Service Corps assignment and was building her interior design brand when the attack occurred.

Rights advocates and relatives continue to call for a thorough investigation and justice.
