Soludo’s performance makes him unfit for re-election – YPP

Deputy Governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, Mr Uzu Okagbue has expressed strong confidence that his party will win the November 8 Governorship Election in Anambra State.

Okagbue said the governor of the state, Prof Chukwuma Soludo is increasingly becoming unpopular in the state because of underperformance, and this have made him unelectable again.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday at his Umunnachi residence in Dunukofia Local Government Area, Okagbue said: “My confidence in victory is that we are running against a very weak governor.

“Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is a weak incumbent, and that makes them easy to defeat. The weakness of the governor is because he has failed in all indices of governance. Soludo is the worst governor the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has produced in its 19 years of leadership in the state.”

He accused the governor of abysmal performance, citing worsening insecurity, falling education standards, poor treatment of state workers, and the recruitment of cheap labour as evidence of failure.

“Under Soludo, Anambra’s educational ranking has disgracefully dropped from first position in the country to 33rd. How can you move forward in education where the governor is hiring cheap Labour as teachers?

“The governor’s road projects are failing, even as they are being constructed. You people are journalists, do I need to tell you people about that? You already know these things. You are in this state and have seen where roads are being maintained, even as they are being constructed.

“The people of Anambra deserve better, and on November 8, YPP will deliver that change. These things I have mentioned are the reasons Soludo will never return. Anambra people know these things and they will vote him out on November 8.

“The best replacement Anambra people can get is the YPP governorship candidate, Paul Chukwuma. I teamed up with him as his running mate because of his bold vision and clear ideas. The YPP ticket represents the only hope to rescue Anambra from its present doldrums,” he said.
