Taraba police hunt security guard accused of kidnapping employer’s son

Police in Taraba State have launched a manhunt for a security guard, Amos Kini, accused of abducting his employer’s two-year-old son and demanding a ransom of N5 million.

Zagazola Makama reports that the boy’s mother, Mrs. Ujuwan Okosun, reported the incident late Sunday, alleging that the guard fled with her son, Ivan Okosun, and her mobile phone. Kini later used the same phone to call her husband, demanding ransom for the child’s release.

Responding swiftly, detectives visited the scene and arrested Aruna Dauda, said to be the guarantor of the suspect.

“The command has intensified efforts to track down the suspect and rescue the child unhurt. Investigation is ongoing,” security sources confirmed.

Police have urged residents to remain at alert and provide timely information to help curb criminal activities in the state.
