Aisha Yesufu, a co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group, has disclosed what security agents demanded before they could allow reinstated Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, access into her office yesterday.
Yesufu disclosed that security agents at the National Assembly insisted that Natasha must present her husband before she was allowed access into the premises and her office.
Natasha was suspended by the Senate six months ago due to sexual harassment allegations against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Upon resumption yesterday, the sergeant-at-arms had unsealed and reopened her office at the National Assembly.
After the initial chaos, Natasha was granted access into the office where she addressed journalists.
However, Yesufu, in a post on X, wrote: “Yesterday the security at the National Assembly were insisting that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s husband has to be around before she will be allowed in.
“They were insisting that was the instruction given to them. I asked them whether they asked for the wives of other senators before letting them in?
“The see finish we get as women in this country is on another level.
“You are asking a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to bring her husband before you open gate! Kai.”
