Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has suggested why his team defeated Liverpool 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.
Glasner watched as goals from Ismaïla Sarr and Eddie Nketiah gave Crystal Palace the win over the Reds.
Liverpool’s only goal was scored by Federico Chiesa for Arne Slot’s men at Selhurst Park.
Speaking in his post-match interview after the game, Glasner said Palace defeated the Premier League champions because his players put in a great performance against the visitors.
“We played the best first half since I arrived. We were 1-0 up but teams like Liverpool are able to strike back. The pressure was high and then they got the equalizer,” Glasner told Sky Sports.
“But huge credit to the players, we struck back and got the winner at the end. I’m delighted for Eddie Nketiah coming back from a long injury.
“These are the moments why we love football. We deserved it. Great performance, great game, great win.”
