According to witnesses, the senator, who was speaking on behalf of Kogi Central, maintained his composure and insisted that the seizure had no legal justification. “This was never approved by the court. My passport is not yours to keep,” she declared. The event happened early in the morning when Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, arrived at the international terminal. Travellers and airport employees were drawn to the altercation after immigration officers detained her passport without providing a valid justification.
