Nigeria has entered a new dawn under Tinubu’s administration – APC boasts

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 65th independence anniversary, saying the nation has entered “a new dawn of great and infinite possibilities”.

Felix Morka, national publicity secretary of the APC, said in a statement on Wednesday that the party salutes the struggles and sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers who built a united nation out of ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity.

The ruling party said Nigeria has continued to triumph through difficult challenges on the back of the resilience and patriotism of its citizens.

Morka stated: “There is no better time to be optimistic about the prosperity of our country than now.

“Despite the flaws and missed opportunities of bygone political eras, a new dawn now breaks over our country heralding brighter days for our people and a vibrant future for our country.”

APC described Bola Tinubu, president of Nigeria, as “inimitably bold and visionary”, noting that his reforms to end fuel subsidy and unify the foreign exchange system have placed the economy on a stronger footing.

It acknowledged the hardship that followed the reforms but insisted that the economy is now delivering “early yields” of improved material conditions for Nigerians.

The party said: “As Mr President has stated, the economy has turned the corner.

“Our country has become a net exporter, posting consistent trade surpluses in the last five quarters. Non-oil revenue has surged, just as oil production has reached record levels.”

The party added that gross domestic product (GDP) growth hit 4.28 percent in the second quarter of 2025, surpassing the IMF’s forecast of 3.5 percent.

It also said foreign reserves have climbed to over $42 billion, while inflation has fallen to 20.1 percent — the lowest in recent years.

The APC credited Tinubu’s administration with reducing Nigeria’s revenue-to-debt-servicing ratio, raising the tax-to-GDP ratio, stabilising the naira, and restoring investor confidence.

The party also said infrastructural investment, growth in agriculture and the creative industry, as well as the fight against insecurity and corruption, have positioned the nation for “historic advancement”.

It thanked Nigerians for their patience and sacrifice and urged continued support for Tinubu’s administration.

“Again, we applaud Nigerians for their patience and sacrifice of love for country.

“We urge them to sustain their support for our great party and the President Tinubu-led administration as we continue in our concerted efforts to build a Nigeria of our collective dream,” the statement concluded.
