Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has disowned online businesses and promotional campaigns using his name for commercial purposes.
In a statement on Wednesday, Obi said his attention had been drawn to individuals and groups who continue to exploit his name and image to promote online ventures despite previous clarifications by his aides.
He described the actions as fraudulent and misleading, warning that such schemes were aimed at deceiving unsuspecting members of the public.
His words: “I wish to state categorically that I have no connection whatsoever with any of these endorsements or promotional activities.
“At no time have I authorised any individual, business, or online platform to use my name, image, or identity for commercial purposes or profit-making ventures.”
He urged Nigerians to disregard such claims and remain cautious when encountering online content that associates him with business dealings.
“Genuine information concerning me or my engagements will continue to be communicated through officially verified channels,” he added.
