
The governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah has finally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mbah announced his formal resignation from the PDP during a press conference in Enugu on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
According to Mbah, his decision to leave the PDP follows the need for him to serve the people of Enugu state better in his role as a governor.
He also stated that joining the APC will avail his office and Ndi Enugu a great opportunity to align with the party’s vision for progress and development.
At the event, Mbah restated his committment to championing the interests of the people of Enugu while expressing confidence that the APC will provide better opportunities that would deliver good governance to the state.
“Today, after a long period of reflection, we have decided to leave the PDP and join the APC,” Mbah said.
Mbah’s defection today was marked by the governor singing the popular APC supporters’ song “On Your Mandate” after making his announcement.
