Ex-PDP Youth Leader Reveals Another Southeast State is Set to Join APC

Former National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sunday Udeh-Okoye has predicted that another Southeast state will soon come under the control of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Udeh-Okoye made the statement on Tuesday during an interview, where he hinted at how the APC is gaining momentum in the South-East.

His comments followed his own defection to the APC alongside other party leaders in Enugu State, joining Governor Peter Mbah in leaving the PDP.

According to Udeh-Okoye, the APC’s influence in the South-East is growing rapidly and is unstoppable.

When asked which state he was referring to, he declined to give details, saying the information was classified.

“Just wait and see; very soon, another state will fall in the South-East to the APC,” he said.

He insisted that the recent defections were not aimed at weakening the opposition but were driven by leadership and management failures within the PDP.

Governor Mbah was welcomed into the APC by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, and other party leaders.

This Newspaper notes that the Southeast geopolitical zone comprises Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States. Currently, the APC governs Imo, Ebonyi, and Enugu States, while Anambra is under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Abia is governed by the Labour Party.
