BREAKING: Tinubu Swears In Prof. Joash Amupitan as INEC Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The brief ceremony took place on Thursday at the State House in Abuja, with top government officials in attendance.

Amupitan, a Professor of Law, was recently confirmed by the Senate and replaces Mahmood Yakubu, whose tenure has come to an end.

The new INEC Chairman is expected to begin consultations immediately with Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) and senior officials to review the commission’s reform agenda and ongoing electoral processes.
