The All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked a document circulating on social media titled “APC 2025 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses and Related Activities,” describing it as fake news.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the ruling party said it had not released or authorised any timetable for congresses or related political activities for 2025.
“Our great party wishes to clarify that the purported schedule of activities for congresses was neither made nor authorised by the APC,” the statement read. “It should therefore be disregarded in its entirety.”
The party urged members, supporters, and the general public to rely only on official communications issued through recognised channels, including statements signed by the National Publicity Secretary or published on the party’s verified platforms.
“The attention of the All Progressives Congress has been drawn to a document making the rounds online regarding the alleged timetable for congresses across the country. We wish to state categorically that it did not emanate from the national secretariat of the party,” the statement added.
The APC further cautioned mischief-makers against spreading false information capable of misleading its members or causing unnecessary tension within the ranks of the party.
It assured that when the National Working Committee (NWC) finalises and approves any schedule for congresses or conventions, the public will be duly informed through official announcements.
