Former presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore, has been released from Kuje Prison after meeting the bail conditions granted by a Magistrate Court sitting in Kuje, Abuja.
In his ruling, Magistrate Sai’id granted the defendants bail in the sum of ₦500,000 each, with conditions that they present a verified National Identification Number (NIN), submit their three-year tax clearance certificates, and deposit their passports with the court.
After fulfilling the bail requirements, Sowore and the other defendants regained their freedom from Kuje Prison on Monday evening.
Sowore’s arrest last Thursday came shortly after he left the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he had attended Nnamdi Kanu’s court proceeding.
Earlier reported Sowore was arrested alongside Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, Kanu’s younger brother, and 11 other protesters during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow demonstration held in Abuja on the 20th of October 2025.
The protesters were arraigned before Magistrate Abubakar Umar Sai’id on Friday on charges of unlawful assemblyand disturbance of public peace.
